Quite the hiatus, back with a bang…

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here to stay up to date. I’ve said it before (and I’ll say it again) that working in property, and supported housing, is often an all or nothing endeavour — it seems to take ages to make any progress, with large gaps of time spent waiting for things, and then all of a sudden lots can happen in a very short space of time.

Add general ‘life’ business into the throngs of property business, and time can really fly.

The picture (at the top) was taken a couple of weeks ago at one of our sites in Derbyshire. Working with a local developer, we’ll be delivering 3 new build dormer bungalows alongside a partner of ours. The site isn’t far off completion, and we’ll be under contract in the next week or so, and finalising the remaining specification works in anticipation of PC (before 1st June).

Thankfully we’ve also exchanged contracts on our ‘other’ service in North Nottinghamshire. This has been a long time in the making and, whilst we’re not in possession of it just yet, we’re not a million miles away from completion, carrying out specification works and moving tenants in. All said and done I imagine we’ll be 12–14 months from initial viewings…hell of a slog.

I’m still working on trying to deliver a site in Cornwall — more and more sites seem to go through our ‘sausage’ machine, and more and more of them don’t stack — even fewer are around long enough to carry out our DD checks. It’s an uphill battle!

After weeks of endless cloudy/miserable/grey/wet Cornish Winter days, I’m glad that the sun’s out this morning and we are finally lambing at the farm next door. Spring’s on its way.
