It was the best of times…

In the ebb and flow of ‘property’, last week was typically/untypically uneventful. I find it difficult sometimes explaining what it is that I’ve been up to during a given week, mostly because they’re so varied, or rather because they’re so exhausting in completely different ways.

I’ve been fishing a few times in my life (not a fully fledged angler), and the ‘effort’ required feels very much the same as a property endeavour — prepare your fly, pick your spot, cast the line and see what bites (on repeat, and a simplified version). Sometimes the time between ‘casts’ seems like a moment, especially during a busy week, otherwise it can (and does) feel like a lifetime…just one more day!

One piece of good news is that we’re finally agreeable on terms for a proposed supported accommodation service in Derbyshire. Whilst it’s a relatively compact site, the mixture of self-contained apartments and an HMO provides a variety of accommodation that our partner is pleased with. The site will be delivered to a generous new build specification once fully consented, and will be ready for occupation in the middle of next year.

I’ve also drafted an outline heads of terms for a further supported accommodation site in Nottinghamshire; centrally located within the town (whilst still residential), the property is less than a ten minute drive from another 2 purpose built sites, which could offer general residential support and more ‘independent’ style living, in a core and cluster model.

More to come!
